Words Their Way
Words Their Way is a program that takes a developmental approach to phonics, spelling, and vocabulary instruction. Students are given word lists that correlate to their developmental stage of word study and paired with partners at their level. Partner groups are charged with sorting their words and noticing patterns in spelling and sound. Students then practice spelling these words as well as finding other words that fit the same pattern. Students are assessed throughout the year to evaluate changes in their developmental stage.
